Dr. Cork's party hare all deni<vl that he reached the summit of Mt. MacKinlev, the highest peak on the North American continent, and have signed affidavits to the effect thnt the records, including diaries md photographs, were "faked* , at the explorer's command. Vntil Us polar claim was questioned by Peary, there was p. 3 suggestion that "On the Top of the G'ntinent." the hook in which Dr. Cook described his 50 days' climb of the mountain, was not an accurate record pi a great achievement.
