THE FARE TO SYDNEY.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I just think that many other things hare been considered, but not one of the most important. The fare from Auckland to Sydney, which amounts to £4 single steerage, for a journey of three days and a half, runs to about 23/ a day. Some years ago you could get there for £1. I am quite sure that the majority of steer r age passengers are the working class. Besides, 75 per cent of the passengers are at times sea-sick amd are sometimes not. able to go on deck, while others hardly eat for a 1/ a day. I hope that an alteration of the shipping companies will take place.—l am, etc., EXPERIENCED TRAVELLER.
