AUSTRALIAN CABLES.
AUSTRALIAN RACING. (Received 11.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Ataahua has recovered from his recent accident and is now being - treated to gentle exercise. There is some uncertainty to whether Pilot will start in the Australian Steeplechase. It is believed that the distance is against him. He has been entered for the Knowsley Steeple, two miles, run on the same day as the Australian Steeplechase. California has been scratched for the Melbourne Cup.
