On the motion of Mr. R, W. Hill, probate in the estate of Robert Rew deceased was granted by his Honor, Mr. Justice Sim, on Tuesday last. A farewell social, attended by .80 residents and friends, was tendered to Mr. F. W. Lang, M.P.,' at Tuhikaramea last night on the occasion of'severing his connection finally with the district. Gold Smith, presided (, for the first time this morning over a v meeting of the Auckland Crown Lands Board. Mr. A. R Harris, as senior member of the Board, welcomed Mr. Gold Smith to Auckland, and said he hoped that the relations 'between the Commissioner and the members of the Board would be as- pleasant in the future as they had been in the past. Veterans living at a distance, who may wish to attend the presentation-of colours to the King's College Cadets at the Domain on Sunday, will be enabled to travel to Auckland on free passes, Mr. L.
