A distressing accident occurred last night in Victoria-street West shortly after six o'clock, when a boy named Harold Hudson, residing in Deadwoodterrace, Ponsonby, who was Tiding a Wcycle on the Heme Bay line behind Car Xo. 49, was severely injured. ; Ha endeavoured to pass the car and swerved round to the right in or3er to do so, but when level with the front of the car he collided with a pole, and was thrown in front of the car, his body lying right across the line. The motorman, with great presence of mind, pulled up very smartly indeed, but the victim of the accident was already under the guard, and when extricated and: conveyed to the Hospital, was found to be i suffering from internal injuries. At the time of going to press this afternoon, his condition was still serious. The fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Nursing Division took place on Tuesday last, when Mr A.
