BANKRUPTCY.
John Christopher Sorensen, builder, of Onehunga, attributes his bankruptcy to the fact that in August last, owing to his wife's continued ill-health nnd his taking contracts at cut prices, also owing to bad weather, the increased cost of labour, and in many cases through delays in the delivery of material, he could not finish his contracts to time, and went behind. He has no assets, except his tools of trade and furniture, which ie of little value. His father-in-law, who was disposed to help him, died last week nnd the estate is now tied up in the hands of trustees, and he cannot expect to obtain anything from that quarter. The liabilities to unsecured creditors amount to £407 ID/2, and to secured creditors £59,2, the latter holding securities valued at £600. The assets are set ;down at £47 17/, the chief item of which ;is furniture, valued at £20, and there is also a surplus from secured creditors of £18. An adjourned meeting of creditors will be held on the 23rd inst at 2.30 p.m.
