1.0. G.T. - • ■ • --■ The quarterly meeting of the Auckland District Lodge, International Order of Good Templars, was held in the Orange Hall, Knrungahape-rond. Bro. Geo. Clark, District Chief Templar, presiding. The District Degree was conferred on several members, and the reports of the officers received, the secretary's report showing an increase of eleven members for the quarter. Various matters of interest were then dealt with, and the report of the Grand Lodge Reception Committee was received, showing a satisfactory state of the finances' Iμ entertaining Grand Lodge representatives. The D.C.T. then made presentations to Bro. A. Craddock (secretary of Reception Committee), Bro. A. E. Clark (secretary of Housing Committee), and Bro. W. J. MeDermbft (secretary of Entertaining Committee), who each responded. The D.B.S. (Bro. W. J. McDermott) was then installed into office after which the Lodge adjourned. ' V.M.C.A. SOCIAL EVENING. The syllabus of fortnightly Saturday musical evenings for members of the V M.C.A. and young men friends was continued ou Saturday In the V.M.C.A. Rooms, when the second of this season's evenings was held. The following programme was given and fully enjoyed:—Selection on the "Fairy Bells," Mr. E. J. Bromby songs "Peg Away" and "Under the Union Jack " Mr. 11. R. Kendon; song, "Anchored," Sir. A. C. Bird; recitation (humorous), "How McDougall Topped the Score" and' "Kitty O'Toole," Sir. E. G. Baskett: song "The Little Hero," Mr. F. E. Cory; song, "I'm Tired," Mr. Cole; recitation. Mr. Plang; gong, "The Lost Chord," Mr. w , .' J. En<'laud; recitation (humorous), Mr. A. Matthews; and instrumental selections by Messrs. England, Le Petit, sen.. Le Petit jun., Bird, and S. Moyle. Mr. England acted as accompanist.
