DREADFUL MASSACRES, 2000 KILLED AT ASTRABAD. (By; Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) ST. PETEKSBUKG, April 19. The newspaper "Russ" learns that 2000 people at Astrabad, including women and children, were massacred after a fight with, the revolutionaries. Eussia is sending a detachment of troops to Astrabad. Aetrabad, in Northern Persia, is a "decayed" town with a population which has been reduced during the last century from over seventy-five thousand to about Sve thousand. It lies near the Caspian Sea, within the Rusian sphere of influence, in the district which has'suffered severely from the raids of the revolur tionaries, although at a distance from Tabriz, the headquarters of the mover
