The Parnell Borough- Council met last night. Present. Mr. G. W Basley (Mayor) and Messrs. C. Wood, B. B. Lusk, W. Johns, J. R. trunddn.R; 8; Briggs G. Foster, F. Fltt, and G. Thompson. ' Tram Service.—ln reply to a communication from the Council complaining of the Irregular ear- sen-ice on the Parnell section, Mr. J. G. Walklute, general manager of the Auckland Electric Tramway Co., stated that, after careful Investigation, he had been-unable to discover any non-compliance with the time-table. Would the Council, however, afford him definite particulars of any lapse that came before them he vonld be muih,' obliged,' as he 'could then deal with the matter. The' letter was received. Declined with Thanks.—A selling offer from the Public Works Department of a cart welgh-briage,. which the Department had purchased from-the makers some years ago, and had never found any use for The offer was declined Water Consumption.—The turncock reported that the water consumption for the past fortnight had totalled 2,028,000 gallons by the Ponsonby meters 1,588,000 gallons and by the Khyber meter 440,000 gallons.
