MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

A meeting of friends and supporters of Mr. P. J. Xerhenv was held in the Ponsonby Hall on Saturday evening last. Mr. R. Armiger presided over a large a-nd representative gathering of residents. All present formed themselves into a sub-committee, and volunteered to canvass the district in Mr. Xerhenv's interests. Mr. J. M. Thompson has consented to take the chair at the Grey Lynn citizens' meeting at the Richmond Hall 1 j-night. Mr. Hall-Skclton will also speak. .So far the returning officer for Parneil has only received one nomination. Messrs George Davis and Thos. Lono-, candidates for seats on the City Council, will address the electors in Union Hall, Swan-son-street, to-morrow evenin-.
