THE KANGAROOS' TOUR.
REASON FOR THE FAILURE. PERTH, April 13. The Australian professional Rugby team (Northern Union rules) reached Ffeniantle to-day, homeward bound from England. Mr Giltinan, the manager, attributed the financial failure of the tour to the cotton strike in the North of England, and to the Press being dead against them on account of the charges made for admission. The prices usually charged were 2d and 4d, but during the tour the charge was 1/. Mr Giltinan believes that no amateur' team will ever again be invited from the colonies, as a result of the Scottish decision in regard to professionalism.
