Fourteen of the 30 men employed on the building, the majority of whom were working on the roof, Vere injured. : ftf-o—Gleeson and Nicholson —sue- . Wanted, and 10 others were taken to the jospitai. where three arrived in a serious condition. '■ -Just prior to the collapse the foreman ' decided that it was too dangerous to continue work owing to the high wind, and . arfered the men to ceage. They were en- , gaged in making everything secure when ■ the crash came. A number of men on the ground floor ; lad' a miraculous escape, the toppling .structure being blown right over them injuring them. Much difficulty - this experienced in rescuin gthe injured, i wlo were jammed amongst the debris.
