ROOT'S LABOURS FOR PEACE.
CARNEGIE'S RECOGNITION. (Received 9.15 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 11.. Mr Andrew Carnegie has given Hamilton College, in 3sew York State, where Mr Elihu Root, Secretary of State in Boosevelt's Cabinet, was educated, a sum of .two million dollars (f 400,000) to commemorate Mr Root's services in the cause of international peace.
