NORTHERN COUNTIES' CONFERENCE.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) DARGAVILLE, this day. Among the remits from the Otamatea County to be forwarded to the Northern Counties Conference, to be held at Dargaviile during the current month, are ■the following: The need of urging upon the Government the speedy opening up of native lands and the individualising of the same for rating purposes; also that the Government be asked to expedite construction of the North Auckland Nlain Trunk Railway, and define station.-, so that local bodies may be enabled to locate permanent roads; and, further, that the Government be urged to ;ii"t all waste Crown lands in the north thrown open for settlement as »oon a* ]}0.--ihle. Messrs. Gordon Coates and lackman were appointed to represent the county at the conference.
