THE ENCOUNTER COLLISION.
SYDNEY, April 6. The trial of Samuel Bryant, coxswain, for manslaughter in connection with the collision between the steamer Dunmore and a pinnace belonging to HJM.S. Encounter, in Sydney Harbour on January 5 resulting in 15 "bluejackets losing theit lives was concluded to-day, a verdict oi not Guilty being returned. The judge, in discharging Bryant, said the latter had done the best he could in the circumstance and, bo far from being blameable, he"was worthy of a great deal of commendation for not doing something which might have involved still greater loss oi life.
