HOSPITAL BOARD.

The Auckland Hospital Board met yesterday afternoon. There were present: Messrs Knight (chairman), Coyle, Mackay, Rutherford, Bagnall, Johns, Dye, Sturge, Jenkln.

Supply of Drugs.—The Board recently wrote to Dr. Valintine asking It there was any objection to them inviting alternative tenders for drugs, etc., for one or three years. The Board added that it understood that there was « vast difference in the prices paid for drags by various hospitals. Dr. Valintine, In reply, considered that there was no objection to the method of calling tenders, but the longer term was more likely to be satisfactory. He could find, he added, nothing to make him think that the Board waß being overcharged for drugs or dressings, particularly the former.
