A good number of followers ot the game attended, and 24 players registered their uames for the coming season. Mr Eagleton was again elected president and chairman. The annual meeting of the Waihi Rugby Union was held on Saturday evening, Mr D. Altken presiding. The election of officers for the season 1909 resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr D. McLean; vice-patron, the Rev. Father Brodle; president, Mr J. Newth; vlce-presi-deiits, Messrs R. Gooch, T. GUmour B. S. Noonan, N. Warren, Bert Power, aud R. H. Wynyard; auditors, Messrs F. W. Barber and W. McConochie; hon. secretary, Mr C. Campbell; hon. treasurer, Mr J. Binns; management committee, Messrs D. Altken, W. Paul, W. Moore, D. Morrow, F. Clarklu, S. Saunders, and R. McWhlrter.

At a subsequent meeting of the new committee It was decided to approach the Borough Council with regard to the use of the recreation gronnd for the coming season.
