■i . m THE -ffiTURNING OFFICER'S FEES. PROTEST RAISED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) PAEROA, this day. At a special meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council, a sum of £220 was voted to the Returning Officer in connection with the recent licensing committee election. Mr. Geo. Crosby strongly objected to this course, stating that on behalf of the ratepayers lie intended to carry the matter further.
