(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MERCER, this day. A man whose name is unknown had been working for Mr Finch, of Glenmurray and had been away two weeks. He returned by the express yesterday, and, later, fell over the side of a creamery boat from Mercer, opposite Gregory's landing. The man was standing by the deck-house near the stern, when the engineer went to attend to the engine. Wlien the engineer camse out of the engine-room the man had disappeared. The engineer saw him in the water, plunging about, and turned the boat to render assistance, but the man had disappeared. Constable Waterman is making inquiries.
