In order to test the practicability of employing motor-cars in warfare, the Antomobile Association conveyed a battalion of Guards at full strength, with their baggage, from London to Hastings in 3J hours. tA; 'total of 286 cars and 28 lorries was employed, and the column was seven miles long. Only a few minor accidents eeenrred.
