DUXEDIN, Wednesday. tThe hospital trustees to-day resolved $o ask the Hospital Board for £ 10.000 to icover the estimated cost of maintenance : for the year 1909-10.. and also for £1000 ■to liquidate the bank overdraft conse- ! ftuent upon the insufficiency of last year's grant of £9000. The trustees have reSolved to complete the following works: ►-New out-patients' department, X-ray froom and equipment, second operating ■theatie, improvement of students and JDurses' . lecture room. It was stated at to-day's meeting that Ihe ex-patients' outstanding account up to October, 1908, amounted approximately \ to" £4000, spread over some 900 debtors Sad incurred during the last live years, lill these on admission expressed ability ,Bnd willingness to pay. It was resolved 'to appoint a clerk and collector for the purpose of ascertaining the positions and thereabouts of the debtors and to take Becessary steps to obtain settlements, jliscrimination to be used in the cases of j (breadwinners of families not in a position to liquidate the claims.
