A MISSING MERCHANT.
The present •whereabouts of a wellknown business man of Auckland is causing his creditors much, uneasiness. 'Hβ.. was last seen in Auckland about Wednesday week last, but it was some time after that this his absence from business gave cause for any alarm, as he has enjoyed the confidence of all with whom he has been associated. '- '
His creditors'have good reason to believe that he went from Auckland to Wellington, where it is supposed he caught the steamer which left there for Sydney last Friday. This vessel will be due at Sydney to-morrow night. The business dealings of the missing merchant involve a considerable smn of money, and if no satisfactory explanation of his sudden disappearance is forthcoming, the estate will probably be placed under the bankruptcy law to enable the creditors to realise on the assets, over which there are bills of sale.
