. . LONDON, March 14. A large gathering of shipowners in plasgqw, by an overwhelming majority, Rejected 2Ur. McCarthy's international union scheme.
-To meet the surplus of shipping Mr McCarthy suggested that all tramp tonfiage be laid Tip for one month out of every rix. The scheme was supported by capital representing £250,000,000, but Glasgow shipowners looked askance at the Mheme from the inception, and their refusal to accept it will probably result la the .negotiations falling through.
