Dated this 3rd day of November, 190 S. J. C. WEBSTER, Returning Officer. gOMB TREASONS WHY J -CTOTB I ■VO-LICENSE. Because one of my old mates was drowned, another had his uecfc broke, and a third was driven m.id ajid died iv the j lunatic Esjiom, all through DRINK. Because two neighbours of mine died in the horrors of delirium tremens, one of I them raving for brandy; another'blew out his hrair.s with a pistol, and another committed suicide by cutting his throat, all due to DltlNK. Because I can never forget the hundreds of poor fellows who have been drowned like doss, or wo;-se. iv the Northern Walroa River and the waters of the Waitemata Harbour, miserable, victims of the accursed DRINK. rSecause I remember two well-connected women I once knew who were burnt to death through the DRINK at different times. I sat upon one of the inquests. Because a lady friend of mine is now "a perfect wreck" through DRINK. Because I have seen rolitieinns, lawyers, doctors, merchants, journalists, brewers, j ho-telkeepers (many of them), auctioneers, contractors, clergymen's sons, and others all go down to disgrace and death through the ensnaring, destroying DRINK. It is an utterly bad business. Let us ALL .Vote it Out AN QITIZEN 45 V® ASS - ' " ~_|sS_rsP>. TTOPE OP GREY y _so^ E §T*>3?_x AND ARCH As9%/iUL\Y$¥&&. HILI " r ' O. G.
