Parliament has passed the Fisheries Amendment Bill, which was drafted to meet ..the complaints of the Rotorua natives that the pakeha's acclimatisation operations Bad robbed them of- their food supplies. The hill provides that the heads of the hapus may be allowed to fish for trout in season on payment of a nominal license fee. The trout have eaten out. the small fresh water crayfish that consti__ed a staple article of diet amongst the Rotorua Maoris in earlier days. A special show.
