PROBABLE AUCKLAND APPOINTMENT- '■ (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. In connection \ h the appointment of a sub-inspector ol police to replace the late Sub-inspector Gordon, and also SubInspector McDonnell's successor at Napier, I have reason for believing that the names of Sergeant Hendry, of Auckland, and Chief Detective McGrath, oi Wellington, have been submitted for approval by Cabinet.
