WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION. The market opened this morning with a steady buyer for Grand Junctions, with the result that about 2000 shares changed hands at the morning call at prices that advanced from 34/ to 30/. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. ' May Queen.—At Xo. 6 level the tootwall branch of No. 4 lode looks promising The quarts still 3hows gold freely, and yields a pound or so of picked stone occasional] v. In the stopes above this level the leader / shows gold, and the quartz should be of | fair grade. At No. 0 level. Queen of Beauty 1 sectiou, the lode in the south drive has shown great improvement on the seaward I , side of the break. When breaking-dowu good dabs of gold were seen iv the quartz, a few. pieces being good enough to class us I 1 picked stone. This lode lias now been I driven on for l__t. and looks very promising. ,lt is about a foot wide in the back ot the | drive, and about two feet in the bottom. The total distance driven on the lode is I about 2SSft. Now that the golden belt of couutry has been met with in which the 1 old Bright Smile Company obtained ail the gold iv the early days in the levels above, there appears reason to believe that a payable block will be opened at this leve'. Another 10ft of driving in the northern crosscut should reach -vertically under the .unction of No. 4 lode at No. i. level, but" owing to the underlie, another 10ft may require to be driven. The quartz looks well. Kurnnui.—At the intermediate level the leader has been stripped and brokeu down. Samples give gold in the dish. The ore from No. 1 stope carried good minerals. In No. 2 slope the leader averages about 7 Inches. Crushing commenced this morning.
