At the last meeting of the Harbour Board, Mr. Xapier asked what number of punts would be required to convey the silt dredged by dredger Xo. 121 to reclaimable areas. At present he contended much time was lost by the dredger sailing to sea, besidtes which the silt was of value in reclamation works. Yesterday the Board's acting-engineer reported that there were at present 10 punts, and others were being constructed. To do the work, be considered 20 80-ton punts would be required. The matter had already enga-jei the attention of Mr. Hamer. and at the acting-engineer's suggestion, the matter was deferred until the fonnei's return from England.
