AMUSEMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE The Opera House was crowded last evening, when Fullers Vaudeville Company presented an entire change of programme. A number of new artists made their appearance, and the programme, comprising a lengthy and varied series of turns, was received with evident appreciation. Maud Faning, an Australian coon cantatrice, speedily established herself in favour in a number of excellent vocal items, her performance being repeatedly encored. Arthur Elliot, an amusing and versatile acrobatic comedian, also made his first, appearance before an Auckland audience, receiving warm applause for his turns. The Cambry Sisters, soubrettes and dancers, and Verey. the "twobeaded policeman," likewise bowed their initial acknowledgments, and met with capital receptions, the comedy worl: of the latter being 'very amusing. Others to resppear were Scott and Beresford. the "comedy sketch team,'-" the I.evartos, Albert Lucas, Lerona, Belle Gibbons, Carlton and Sutton and Julia Longman, while several biograph varieties were presented. The programme will be repeated throughout the week and to-night Little Violet Elliot, billed as "The Miniature Marie Lloyd," will make her first appearance before the Auckland footlights. MISS IRENE AINSLEY. Miss Irene Ainsley arrived in Auckland , from Sydney by the s.s. Moana this . morning, and will give the first of her New Zealand concerts at the Choral Hall lon Thursday evening next. There has ( been a steady demand for seats at the . box office, and the management predict ' very heaving booking for both tbe con- . certs to be given here. Miss Ainsley's career in England has been recorded by , cable and Press reports that have come • to hand at intervals, -all speaking in glowing terms of the success attained by this gifted New Zealand singer.
