IRISH LEAGUE AND PEERAGE
JIB. REDMOND BECOMMENDED. SPLIT IN THE LEAGUE. (Received 5.50 a.m.) LONDON. July 14. Th South Westmeath Executive of the Irish League contemptuously referred back to the National Directory's Standing Committee the letter's order disbanding the Eockfortbricige branch for adopting a resolution recommending Mr. John Bedmoncl, Leader of the Irish Parliamentary party, to the Premier for a Peerage in consideration of his success jn the Liberal cause. The directory based their action on the ground that the resolution was an act of treason, offensive to the chairman, and contrary to the constitution of the League.
