DEPORTING UNDESIRABLES.

OTTAWA. June 18. A hundred British undesirables, who have recently settled here, are about to be deported from the Dominion. A recent cable stated that Dr Bruce Smith, Inspector of Prisons in the province of Ontario, pointed out in a recent report that there, were more prisoners at present in the State gaols than at any time during the last 20 years. He attributed this state of things to the fact that Ontario had become a dumpingground for undesirable immigrants. Some of them, he stated, after spending most of their lives in English prisons, were released on giving an undertaking that they would emigrate to Canada.
