THE BRAYPBROOK DISASTER.

DRIVER -EC-BURN'S EVIDENCE. I MELBOURNE, June 18. At the inquiry in regard to the Braybrook railway disaster to-day Driver Milburn, who repeatedly broke down, deposed that he tested the brakes when he took charge of the engines, and they were then in perfect order. Approaching the distant signal at Braybrook Junction at a speed of 50 miles he applied the brakes. They appeared to grip properly, and he reduced the speed to 40 miles. Then the train jumped forward, and again he made an emergency application of the brakes, but this time they failed to act properly. Milburn denied using the words, after the accident, "There is no one to blame.but myself."
