(From Our Special Correspondent.) LONDON, April 24 An Anglo-New Zealand wedding took place at 11, Kensington Park Gardens on April 14, when Mr. J. E Friedlander, eldest son of Mr. Rudolph-Friedlander, of New Zealand, was married to Miss Hildegard Friedlander, only daughter of Mr. Waldemar Friedlander, of 11, Kensington Park Gardens. Miss Annie Bramwell, elder daughter of Rowland Bramwell, of Auckland, was married on Wednesday last to Mr. Edmund B. R. Prideaux, M.A., D.Sc. (London), who is, I believe, an old Auckland Grammar School boy. The wedding took place at the parish church at Eastbourne, the Rev. Wm. Dawson, cousin of the bride, performing the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. George Nelson Emmet. Another New Zealand wedding took place on the following day at Barton, Yorks, where Mr. Carl Wilfred Sorensen, youngest son of the late Mr. Carl Marius Sorensen, was married to Miss Beatrice Arundel, daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Drew Arundel. Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Thompson, of Auckland, have arrived in London, Mr. Thompson having come on a business visit to the Old Country. They travelled by the P. and 0. liner Macedonia as far as Marseilles, and had a pleasant voyage. After spending three weeks on business on the Continent, Mr. Thompson proposes to remain for nine weeks in this country, and then take a, few weeks' holiday in France. Switzerland and Italy, finally leaving Marseilles for New Zealand by the Macedonia on June 2Cth. Tie Roman Catholic Bishop of Dunedin, the Right Rev. Michael Verdon, arrived at Rome this week, and was received in audience by the Pope. They conversed for a considerable time on the subject of Roman Catholic affairs in New Zealand. , Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Smith, of Auckland, returned to London this week from the South of France, where they spent the winter. They stayed four months at Mentone, and found the brilliant sunshine of the Riviera a very welcome change from the regions of the English winter. On the way. back to London they spent a month in Paris. They expect to remain in England until the end of the present year.
