ASN'UAL MEETING. Tlie llth annual meeting of shareholders of the Tonson Garlick Company, Limited, I was held yesterday afternoon in the warehouse o£ the company. The chairman of directors (the Hon. S. Thonie George) presided, and the report was read by Air. A. C. Brown, as follows:— In presenting the llth aanual report and ibalance-sheet the directors congratulated the shareholders on the very satisfactory I results disclosed therein, and upon the fact i that the volume of the year's business has j largely exceeded that of any previous year. jTo enable the company to keep well in the j van, the interior of the warehouse has i during the year been entirely remodelled ami renovated. Ample provision has been m-a-ie for depreciation on factory plant and I warehouse iittings. and all the freehold and j leasehold properties of the company have I been maintained in good condition. The I directors recommend the usual dividend of I 8 per cent, with a bonus of 5 per cent on i shareholders' purchases, and that the usual I honorarium be paid to the board. Two I members of the txxird retire by rotation, ; the Hon. S. Thorue George and Mr. T. E. j Montgomery, and. bPlng eligible, offer themselves for re-election. The auditor, Mr. S. H. Matthews. F.N'.Z.A.A., also retires, and offers himself for re-election. In moving the adoption of the report and j balance-sheet, the chairman said it must Ibe gratifying to shareholders to know that the business of the year showed an increase of 20 per cent over the previous year, and i the proiits were correspondingly good.
