YOUNG WIFE'S SUICIDE.

A young married woman named Mrs. Heript, wife of a Papanui resident employed in his father's store, committed suicidte last night '■ by hanging herself to a tree in the orchard'of a relative named J. Evans, whom she: was visiting, at Spreadeagle, sixteen miles from Ashburton. ' '- ';'/..- Deceased retired to bed as usual last night, but later her absence was discov* ered through the cries of her-two young children. Several : hours' search i failed to reveal her whereabouts, but at daybreak the body was'found •'suspended'-from.- a tree," quite dead. No reason is assigned for the deed. The police are investigate ing, and an inquest .will ba held. . -
