He regarded the law as an iniquitous one, since there was not a single street in Arch HiTI which -wa«_66ft. wide. Bondstreet was the widest. ■ He looked upon it as confiscation, pure and simple, as liar as Arch Hill was concerned. Any jirivate person could take exception to the erection of any building at a dosef range than 33ft. to the middle of the road. He was strongly in favour of having the whole district exempted from the Act. Mr Waddingham said that he had a corner block in Bond-street. Ii the road was widened to 66ft. on each side lie iwonld not have a, scrap of land left. At present the road was less than 60ft. wide. The C__r__a explained that the Board had approached the Government, end Bond-street had been exempted on the one condition—that no new building was erected closer than 33ft. to the centre oi the road.
