LONDON, April 2. At the Chamber of Commerce banquet in the Town Hall, at Hull, Mr. Price, Premier of South Australia, explained Australia's resources, and dwelt on the White Australia policy, the comparatively even distribution of wealth in Australia, the system of closer land settlement, and the steady development of the wheat, meat aud butter trades.
He declared that the British merchant vras too slow in grasping the possibilities of extending trade, and promised to direct Australia's attention to the advantages of Great Britain's outposts, and especially HnlL *
Mr. Price ridiculed British shipping companies declining the honour to be the first to tie up to the Adelaide outer harbour because it would possibly have cost £20, whereas the Germans had jumped at the chance. He declared that Australians wished to deal with, their kindred on a preferential scale.
