CABINET DECISIONS.

DEFENCE OFFICER TO V3BEE AUSTRALIA. SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS REAPPOINTED. SUPERANNUATION AND LIFE .i INSURANCE. % (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) '■ WELLINGTON, this day. LCabinet decided that one of tlic Dominion's defence officers shall visit Australia during the Commonwealth Easter man oeuvres. This step is being taken as the outcome of an invitation from the Com monwealth. The officer who will make the trip will probably be selected by the Defence Council. School Commissioners throughout the Dominion whose terms have expired ia the ordinary course have been reanpointed. L A decision of much interest to civil servants was arrived at by Cabinet ia connection with the Superannuation Act of last session. Under the Civil Service Reform Act of 1886, and the Civil Service Insurance Act of 1593, permanent civil servants have been building up accumulations in the Public Trust Office or contributing to insurance policies. Cabinet uecided°yesterday that all who joined the superannua- • tion fund under the Act of last session and applied under that Act for a refund of the amount that they had paid to the Public Trustee, or for the surrendered value of their policies, -should receive it.
