TRAM CAR V. "EXPRESS."
A collision, fortunately not attended with very serious results, occurred about midday in Wellesley-street East, between a tram-car driven by Motorman F. Greenstreet, and one of Wright's 'expresses. It appears that the cart, which was driven by James McLeod, was coming from Lome-street into Wellesleystreet. The driver apparently did not notice the approaching car, and failed to hear the warning shout of the motorman. In spite of a speedy application of the brakes, a crash was inevitable, and McLeod was tossed into the air, while the apron of the car was crushed in. Strange to relate, neither the driver nor his cart was any the worse for the collision, the former being picked up with his head in dangerous proximity to the car wheels. The motorman, however, was not so fortunate. He was conveyed to Neil and Co.'s chemist shop, where, the services of Dr. N. Murray being requisitioned, it was found that his knees were severely bruised, through the crushing in of the front of the car. After his injuries had been attended to. v be was taken to his home in a cab.
