Mr. Hamer, Harbour Board engineer, has been granted eight months' leave of absence, from May next, to visit Europe. It is five years since Mr. Hamer entered into an engagement with the Board, during which time he has not availed himself of a holiday. • The Canadian route Home will be taken by Mr. Hamer, and during his absence he will visit the chief ports of Europe.
