I Jfse of Unpronounceable Words. ; (Received S a.m. , * March 27. The London Chamber of Commerce has unanimously protested against any of the modification by the International Telegraphic Conference to be opened at Lisbon on May 4 of clause S of the Telegraphic Service Regulations applicable to code words, urging rather the removal of all restrictions with respect to the unpronounceability of -words, so long as they do not exceed ten letters. Mr. Charlton, chairman of the council of the chamber, said he believed the Englist Post Office contemplated no radical alteration, but only the withdrawal of a small percentage of words, but the cable companies -were pressing the Government to prevent the loss of time and revenue resulting from the use of unpronounceable -ffoids.
