MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.
The Hon. George Fowlds, Minister for Education and Public Health, returned from Rotorua yesterday afternoon, and was in attendance at the Ministers' room from 9 o'clock this morning for the purpose of receiving deputations and attending to Departmental business. While at Rotorua, the Minister received a deputation asking for continuation classes with the object of tending to elevate the Maoris, and be the nucleus for a high school in the future. There is a local endowment of land in the township for a high school, and the Minister expressed every sympathy with the request of the deputation, promising to do all he could in the matter, as far us the law oermits.
At 1.30 this afternoon Mr. Fowlds entertained the delegates to the N.Z. Dental Conference to lunch at the Pacific Club. Later in the afternoon, the Minister, as chairman of the Costly Training Institute, attendee! a meeting of the trustees. To-night be -will be present at an entertainment given by the boys of the Institute.
To-morrow, Mr. Fowlds leaves by the express to visit Cambridge Sanatorium, and on Friday will return to Rotorua, where Mrs. Fowlds is still staying. Next Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. Fovrlds return to Auckland, and the following day the Minister will leave for Wellington.
