PIRATICAL OUTRAGE.
British Claim Settled. (Received 5.38 ajn.) PEKJNj January 7. The Viceroy of Canton has agreed to pay £8500 to "settle the British claims for the piratical attack upon the steamer Sainan, forty miles from Etuchon, on July 13. 1906. The Eev. Dr. Macdonald." a British missionary, was murdered during the attack, and the captain and chief engineer of the steamer were wounded. The British gunboat Moorhen investigated the occurrence.
