HE SAW ONE.
A SHABBILY DRESSED MAN* (By Telegraph.— rress Association.) WEHrfNGTON, this day. Mr. Edward Smith, .T.P., of Bewdley, Worcestershire, who takes great interest in the question of rendering assistance to those in the Old Country, who, through sickness or infirmity, are unable to help themselves, was present yesterday at the meeting of the Benevolent trustees. After a particular ease had been disposed of Mr. Smith remarked, ' "Well, the Superintendent of Police at Auckland told mc that I wouldn't l>e • able to find a shabbily dressed person in the Dominion, but I have seen one now." Mr. Smith, however, admitted that the man did certainly snot bear the appearance of being starved.
