ALLEGED ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Patrick Brady was committed for trial today on a charge of robbery with violence. Thii e.Leged victim of the robbery, George Talbot, stated in evidence that lie arrived from Dunedin, and was drinking at different hotels in the city. Accused, he alleged, forcibly robbed him of £G. DAIRYMEN FINED. CmUSTCHUBCH, Tuesday. Two dairymen appeared before Mr. EL W. Bishop, S.M., at the Police Court, each charged with two breaches of the Dairy Industry Act, IS9B. One man was fined 20/- for selling impure milk, and a further 20/- for using unclean milk cans. The other was fined 40/- on charges of failing to cool milk for human consumption, and milking cows in sheds which were not kept in a clean condition, as specified by the Act. During the hearing of the cases, the dairy instructor, in answer to questions by the magistrate, stated that he had GOO sheds to inspect, and had one assistant. In connection with the last case, it was probably four months since Ids previous visit. DEATH IN A TRAIN. CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Charles Lacrosse, cook at Benmore station, died this morning in the Springfield to Christchurch train. He complained yesterday of severe internal pains, and the remedies used bringing no relief, it was decided to send him to Christchurch Hospital, but he died as stated. Lacrosse was a single man, forty-five years of age, and had been a month on the station. FIRE AT GORE. GORE, this day. A fire at East Gore this morning partially destroyed the premises owned and occupied by F. Campbell, butcher. The building was insured for £250 in the Victoria office, and the contents for £75 in the North British.
