ARMY MEAT CONTRACTS.

LONDON, July 19.
In the House of Commons, m reply to a. question by Mr. Henniker-Heaton, the Secretary of State for War (Mr. Haldaaie) said it was impossible to alter the date for tenders for the preserved meats contract for the Army in the present case, but in future every endeavour would be made to meet the convenience of the Australian market if possible.
