VICTORIAN .JUDGE'S DEATH.
MELBOURNE, July 18.
Judge Molesworth, of the Victorian County Court, who had just obtained six months' leave of absence, died on board a steamer, on which he was bound for Queensland on a health recruiting trip.
[The Hon. Hickman Molesworth, who was born in Dublin sixty-five years ago, was only a judge in bankruptcy, although he was appointed Acting Supreme Court Judge in 1891. He was called to the Bar of Victor.'a in IS6-1. He was twice married, and his secord wife, who was Miss Alice Henrietta Peck, survives him.]

SYDNEY, this day. The City Coroner stated that of 600 deaths reported last year a very large proportion were due directly or indirectly to excess of alcoholic liquor.

ADELAIDE, this day. Mr. Vardon is bringing a case against the State Governor (Sir G. R. lc Hunte) to have Mr. O'Loughlin's election to the Senate declared void, in order that representation may be decided by election by the people.
