AUCKLAND METHODIST MISSION.
NEW HALL TO BE BUILT.
The adjourned quarterly meetingiof the Auckland Methodist Mission was.held last night, the superintendent (the Rev. J. Wilson) presiding. In addition, to the circuit stewards (Messrs. SciofeU and Clark), there was a large attendants of members. Several important matters of business left over from last meeting were satisfactorily disposed of, and the meeting received the report of the Building Committee, which Had been set up to consider the matter of the new Mission HaJL The. committee i recommended that a hail be erected. of< wood on the site in East-street, to acrommo-.,. date from nine hundred to one thousand, persons, with a small hall behind, the platform to accommodate upwards of two hundred persons. The meeting decided to adopt the recommendation of the committee, and appointed an Executive Committee, consisting of the circuit stewards, the building treasurers, and the superintendent, to confer with the architect . j (Mr. Al Wiseman); to nave pla.is pre-,. 1 pared-; and attend to several matters of detail in order to push the building ' scheme forward as speedily as possible. i The cost of the building, including land . and furnishing, is estimated at nearly ' j £4000. The prospects of the- Mission ; were stated to be very encouraging. The : senior circuit steward moved the foQowI ing resolution, which was carried unanii mously:—(a) "That this meeting, expresses its gratitude to God for the success of the Mission, both financially and spiritually, during the past quarter; (b), we desire to express our gratitude to our people and other friends of the MisI sion for the very generous response wa have received to out appeal for financial assistance; (c) that we. also desire to express our deep gratitude to the Rev. J. Wilson, our esteemed Minister,, for hia J untiring zeal and devotion to the work 'of the Mission. - ' The superintendent reported that there was a very largo j amount of sickness amongst parishioners, especially amongst the children, which I had kept both himself and the Mission I Sister (Sister Kenneth) very busy, for some time past.
