WAIHI RUGBY UNION.

WAIHI, Wednesday. At a meeting of the Wsilii Rugby Union last night an application was read from the City Football Club for permission to register Messrs FaTiey and ilcConnell as members of the dnb. The application was deferred, the players in qnestion not attending in person, as required by the bylaws of the Union.
The town clerk wrote complaining that' after football matches the recreation g-routtd was generally littered with orange peel or other rubbish, and in±imat3iig that the Council had decided to place"' barre's about the gronnd as receptacles fcr rubbish. The writer asked the Union, to impress upon all concerned the desirability ■of using these receptacles, and the committee decided to comply with the request. Mr T>. Hill, member of the committee, wrnte stating that he was taking up his residence at Waikino, and would therefore be compelled to resign. The resignation was accepted with regret. Permission was granted to the junior tram to play a fifteen from Ka±il*ati oa Saturday on the recreation ground.
