At the fortnightly meeting of the Clevedon branch of the Liberal and Labour Federation last Saturday, the following resolution was passed:—"That we urge the Government, in dealing with the land question, to hold sacred the contracts entered into with Crown tenants with respect to tenure; but should' the option of the freehold be carried, then to take measures to have inserted in all future leases of any lands, whether Crown, preserve or privatej a similar option to the leases, to buy at market value, at any time." Several members spoke on the need for a Liberal paper being supported by the branch, and a member voluuteer volunteered to arrange for the Auckland "Star." Our Thames correspondent telegraphs that reports come from the b,ack country of frost the severest experienced for years. There has been thick ice on the water every morning. Some discomfort has been experienced by back-blocks residents. If you U3e Zymole Trokeys you will not be bothered with irritation of the throat, causing you to cough.
